HORSEBACK RIDING LESSONS
A Fun Approach to Riding!
Instructors
Lindsey is an enthusiastic horsewoman whose true passion lies in teaching. She specializes in lower level eventing and hunter/jumper instruction. With almost eight years of experience in teaching, and twice as many in riding, she is well qualified to instruct children and adults of all ages, from beginners to advanced riders. Her teaching style focuses on the core principals of safety, balance, flexibility, and teamwork. These principals give her students a solid foundation for horsemanship, whether their goals include competition or pleasure riding. Being an avid rider herself, Lindsey often takes her own horses to competitions and loves to introduce her students to the wonderful world of horse shows.

Elizabeth Goodman is an avid rider and has her own collection of horses that she works with daily. She inspires her students to reach excellence in their riding. Beginning riders are taught the basic balanced seat, proper use of aids, safety, as well as care and grooming of their mounts. More advanced riders are instructed in equitation to create harmony and effective communication between horse and rider. She believes horse and human partnerships build character and help to teach responsibility, dedication and hard work, all the while forming friendships that last a lifetime. Instruction is tailored to fit each rider's individual goals and needs.

About Horseback Riding
What riding can do for your child:
Horseback riding is a physical activity that can improve fitness, strength, and endurance in children and adults. It is a discipline that can offer a lifetime of learning. Riding couples skill, balance, and coordination with an intellectual and emotional component of a partnership with another species. Riding helps teach responsibility, patience, perseverance, empathy, focus and follow-through. Animal-facilitated therapies have positive effects on human emotions, stress levels and confidence. Horse care and riding combine these benefits with physical activity.

*All of our instructors at Medicine Wind Farm stress safety first and celebrate progress as it comes naturally to each student.
Tot Lessons
We welcome students starting at age five, providing the child takes direction well. Tot riders typically stay on the lead line much longer than older students, so that they can learn basic position and control. Riders who start at a younger age can benefit from a solid foundation, physically and mentally, on which to build riding skills.

Learning to Ride
Beginner riders are taught in a controlled environment. Riders are instructed individually on a long line until they can demonstrate balance and control. At that time, lessons may be switched to semi-private sessions in which riders benefit from learning with another rider at the same level. All riders progress at their own pace - no child will be required, or permitted, to attempt higher skills until the lower ones are mastered.
